Using the Draft tool
Computer-Aided Design (CAD) with Onshape
🕑 This lesson will take about 5 minutes
In this lesson, you will learn how to use the Draft tool in Onshape. This tool allows us to add draft angles to the faces of a 3D object, making it easier to mold or cast the object.
To begin, we will start by creating a new document in Onshape and drawing a simple 3D object using the sketch and extrude tools. This object should have at least one face that we can add a draft angle to using the Draft tool.
Next, we will select the Draft tool and specify the face that we want to add draft to, as well as the angle and direction of the draft. We can preview the resulting drafted face and make any necessary adjustments to the angle or the position of the draft.
