Using the Thicken tool in Onshape

This lesson introduces the Thicken tool in Onshape which can be used to take a surface in an open shape and thicken it. The thicken tool is useful for shapes (such as curved shapes like the one in the example below) because you can easily achieve a consistent thickness automatically, which can be more difficult and time-consuming if you were only using the Extrude tool.

You can also use the Thicken tool to remove sections which will create two parts.
